With a foundation in film, TV production, and creative writing, Maryana brings a unique narrative flair to the culinary world, making her work not just informative but a delightful read. Her approach to writing is disciplined yet creative, ensuring each piece is thoroughly researched, thoughtfully crafted, and polished to perfection.

As the founder of Ravenswood Bakes, Maryana is not only a writer but a hands-on baker and entrepreneur, bringing her culinary creations from the page to the plate in Rhode Island. Her work reflects a deep love for the culinary arts, combined with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.


Maryana holds a BFA in Film and TV Production from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, an M.Phil. in Irish Theatre Studies from Trinity College Dublin, and an MFA in Creative Writing (Nonfiction) from The New School.

Future Endeavors

Maryana is working on transforming her graduate thesis into a comprehensive food memoir that intertwines personal stories with recipes and photography. She has a goal of selling more of her sweet and savory baked goods, from sandwiches to Croatian Krafne doughnuts, either through a food vendor, in a farmer's market, or as a local baking business.

Outside the kitchen, Maryana is an avid reader and writer of memoirs, a film enthusiast with a penchant for horror films and documentaries, and an outdoor adventurer who loves hiking and embracing the beauty of the four seasons.
