The Institute for Culinary Education, known as iCUE, is the culinary arts program offered at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California. The primary focus of the program is to provide extensive education and practical experience to students pursuing careers in the culinary and hospitality industries. It offers degree and certificate pathways designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for professional success.
Students enrolled in the professional programs receive hands-on training in modern kitchen facilities. The curriculum covers a wide array of culinary techniques, foundational principles, and industry practices essential for working in restaurants, hotels, catering, and other food service environments. The program aims to prepare graduates for various roles within the professional culinary field.
Beyond the degree and certificate programs, iCUE also provides cooking classes for the community through College of the Canyons’ Continuing Education division. These classes are open to the public and cover diverse topics such as baking, cake decorating, healthy cooking, sushi making, and specific cuisines like French and Italian. These shorter courses offer practical skills and enjoyable culinary experiences for those interested in learning new techniques or exploring different cooking styles without committing to a full professional program.
