🧑‍🍳 Expert Tips

  • Roll hack: Use a serrated knife to slice the rolls cleanly in one go.
  • Customizable: Add extra toppings like sliced pickles, caramelized onions, or sliced tomato for extra flavor.
  • Make-ahead: If you’re short on time, assemble the sliders but don’t glaze them. Then refrigerate overnight. Glaze and bake them fresh when you’re ready to serve!
  • Swap out the cheese. Try mozzarella, cheddar, or gouda for a different flavor profile.

  • To reheat- Place the rolls in a fresh baking dish and reheat in the oven at 350°F until the cheese starts to melt.

Ham and Cheese Sliders FAQs

Why are my sliders soggy on the bottom?

This is likely because the sauce soaked through the bottom of the buns. You can remedy this by using less sauce or lightly toasting the bottom of the buns.

How to keep sliders from burning on the bottom?

It’s a delicate balance making sure that the insides of the sliders get warmed but the bottom doesn’t burn. You can fix this by covering the buns with foil for the first 20 minutes of cooking. We also recommend using a heavy-based ceramic baking dish for this dish.

What goes first, ham or cheese?

The answer is…both! We like layering cheese, then ham, and adding more cheese for an extra gooey result.
