Dubai Chocolate Bonbons with Sea Salt

These Dubai chocolate bonbons are a fun, bite-sized take on the viral chocolate bar sweeping social media!

The original Dubai chocolate bars, created by Fix Dessert Chocolatier, are hard to miss online these days.

They consist of a dark chocolate shell that contains an oozing filling made from pistachio paste, tahini, and shredded, toasted kataifi pastry.

Their official name is “Can’t Get Knafeh of It.”

Outside of Dubai, these chocolate bars can be difficult and expensive to get hold of, so we’ve decided to create a recipe to make them achievable at home.

In our version, we’ve made them bite-sized, so you don’t need to go out and buy a chocolate mold to experience this delectable treat for yourself.

We’ve also added a little sea salt on top to bring out all these incredible flavors.

Why you will love this Dubai Chocolate recipe…

  • Looks beautiful- The bonbons are pretty little bites that look great on any dessert table.
  • Rich texture– The crisp, dark chocolate combined with the crunch of kataifi pastry and the soft nuttiness of pistachio paste and tahini create the perfect bite.
  • Easy but elegant– These may look fancy, but they are surprisingly easy to make, even for those inexperienced with desserts.
  • Perfect blend of sweet & salty– The sea salt and bitterness of the dark chocolate balances the sweetness of the filling.

  • High-quality chocolate: This is crucial to making these bonbons taste high-end, so don’t waste your time on cheap chocolate.
  • Don’t skip the sea salt: It will help bring out the diverse flavors within the bonbons.
  • Decorate the bonbons. You can choose to top them with some edible gold leaf or drizzle with some white chocolate to make them look even more beautiful.
  • Extra crunch, Add chopped pistachios to the filling mixture.
  • Don’t refrigerate the chocolate while it dries. This will dull the outside and prevent the bonbons from having a shiny finish.
